After he retired from being an excellent physician in New Zealand, he tried his luck in online poker. In the tournament, he succeeded and beat the hands of poker champion Liam Flood. Hence, he took home the pot that amounts to $400,000. His interest in poker continued in 2006 when he beat other poker champions at the Crown Australian Poker Championship in 2006. According to some poker analysts, his total winnings from the tournaments are greater than $2,000,000.

Lee Nelson is one of the patient online poker professionals who never stopped to strive for their dreams until they became successful.
